Hi,
Since the Issue View update, I can't set the Original Estimate field.
The behavior is pretty simple :
1. I open the issue in the new Issue View
2. I click 'Show more' to show the Original Estimate field
3. I type in my estimation as I always did '1d 2h' for example
4. My time show up in the field, formatted, for a couple of second
5. And then the field just reset showing 'Aucune' (which stands for 'none' in french), so it basically unsets itself.
Am I the only one facing this issue ? What could it be related to ?
We've always been using that same field for years, this issue really happened only in the new Issue View and we used to open the issues on the older view to update this field, but soon won't be able to access the older view anymore so I'm looking for a sustainable solution.
Thanks for your help,
Regards,
If Legacy Mode and the Jira New Issue View are enabled, it's not possible to set a time estimate on the Issue Detail View, the one used on boards, for now.
This is happening due to the following bug:
Can't set time estimate using issue-detail view if Time tracking is in Legacy mode and New Issue View is enabled
As workarounds for this bug, you can:
* Disable the New Issue View on your Personal Setting Labs section
* Disable "Jira legacy mode" on the Time Tracking settings page, by the "Edit global settings" button.
In the current Development plan a bugfix is scheduled to be implemented to this bug soon.
Hope this helps!
Gabi
Huge ! Thanks for answering, I was starting to think I were the only one with the pb.
I've got one more question tho. What could happen (worst case scenario) if I disable "Jira legacy mode" ?
Thanks for answering, so precious.

Hey @Foulques de M
Don't worry, you're not alone! haha
From our Configuring time tracking doc, you can see that if Legacy Mode is disabled, your users will be able to change the Original Estimate value of any work being logged on an issue, just that.
Let me know if this helps!

Just one more little thing ! As I read the doc I've found this :
Legacy mode isn't supported in the new Jira issue view, and will be phased out as the new view is released to more Jira users.
Do I have to understand that the Legacy Mode will just not exist ? Like it is just going to disappear ? So I better set up my site without it now, before it's gone, instead of waiting for Atlassian to fix it, right ?

Currently, it is not possible to change the "Jira legacy mode" setting anymore (just a hint box), is that on purpose? Will it be disabled on Feb 11?
Thanks,
Alex

I'm experiencing the same problem. The "Edit global settings" in the Time tracking configuration doesn't show any legacy mode setting.
If I want to adjust the original estimate, I need to use the old issue view.
