Can we change the workflow status automatically based on the Custom field value

Hi All,

I wanted to trigger a workflow status change when a custom checkbox field is checked in..

Say for example, my checkbox custom field is 'solution provided' with field values yes and no. When it is checked in 'Yes', it should trigger a status change from InProgress to Resolved. 

Is that possible??

It's possible, but i have a questions. See, bellow:

1. Is Jira Server or Jira Service Desk?
2. There is a plugin called Script Runner that makes it possible to change the status in several ways, if your instance is Jira Software or Jira Service Desk.
3. If your instance is a Jira Service Desk, besides plugin there is a native tool  call Automation.

If your field is as simple as "Yes" or "No" then I'd myself recommend not doing any of that, unless you have a very specific use case why it should be implemented this way.
