Can you change the Search Template of a Custom Field after it has been created?

I did not realize you could use a multi-pick Search Template for a "Select List" custome filed. So, I created my custom fields with the standard single select Search Filter. But I would like to change it from a "Single Select" search template to a "Multi Select" search template.

Is this possible?

Yes, you can edit the custom field and change the template. You must reindex JIRA after you do it.

How can I edit it? My story points field has Number searcher template. When I go to edit, i dont any other options under template to change the search template. I want to add options (select single choice- list options) search template to it. Please advise....

Doesn't look like an answer was ever given for this..... how do you edit the custom field to change the search template?
