Can you hide an issue type on a scrum board, but still have it show in the backlog?

Could we hide the issue type "Story" on the Scrum Board (active sprint), but still have it show in the backlog? However, we still want the Story subtasks to show in the active sprint. I created a filter for this to not show on the Board, however, Story no longer shows up in the backlog.

Hi @Jason Chayer, excluding the issue type in your filter or sub-filter will remove it from the board view, the backlog is essentially a component or part of the board.  I think your best solution to this requirement of not seeing it but seeing it would be to setup a quick filter for the board to remove the stories from the board once the quick filter is enabled (clicked).

@Craig Nodwell - thank you for the response. Maybe something like project=X AND issuetype != Story ORDER By Rank ASC

it's a quick filter you don't need to be that specific unless it's a multi project board
your quick filter could be as simple as issuetype != Story
