Does anyone know if it's possible to integrate Jira Data Center with Microsoft Purview Information Protection (previously known as Microsoft Information Protection)?

Yes, it's always possible to "integrate" Jira with other systems - it has a set of REST APIs you can use to talk to it from the outside and has functions for talking to other systems internally.

We can't really tell you much more than that though.  "Integrate" is far too vague a word to be useful - what are you looking to do with this "integration"?

I'm not sure what exactly you're looking for to clarify this question - but let me give it a shot. My company uses Jira Data Center, and we also use the Data Classification capabilities of Microsoft Office 365 Microsoft Purview Information Protection to classify documents into one of four designations - one for external documents, and three for internal only documents. I'm interested in anyone has experience integrating these two systems such that Jira would become "aware" of the Data Classification for documents attached to a Jira issue.

If this can be accomplished via the REST API that's great, but given that Jira can "integrate" with other Microsoft applications (for example, Outlook and Teams) without the need for the Jira REST API I'd like to know if this "integration" is also possible between Jira and Microsoft Purview Information Protection.

FYI - we are Adaptivist customers, so if useful we can take this discussion offline, but if there's an actionable answer I'd like to have it posted here so that the entire community can take advantage of it.
