Cannot get the old view back

Ap Reinders August 8, 2025

I am used to filter my work items by epic. However, since the update the system does not give me the usual buttons in the top bar. Also the available work-type options are limited for some reason. When I look at another project it still can sort by epic. Could somebody help me on this?

Hello @Ap Reinders

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

I understand you are not seeing the filter tabs on your project DevOps anymore.

Jira has redesigned the filtering experience on team-managed project boards. All filter options—including Epic, Assignee, Status, Priority, and more—are now consolidated under a single "Filter" button or panel at the top of your board. This replaces the previous approach where filters (like Epic or Assignee) were available as separate buttons or panel.

Key Features of the Unified Filter Experience

  • Single Access Point: Click the Filter button to open a panel where you can apply all available filters.

  • Filter by Multiple Fields: You can filter by Epic (if using the system Epic type), Assignee, Status, Priority, and other fields from the same panel.

  • Parent Filter: The Epic filter has been replaced with a more flexible "Parent" filter, allowing you to filter by any parent level in your board’s hierarchy, not just Epics 1.

  • Expanded Search: The search box within the filter panel now includes custom text fields, making it easier to find specific work items.

  • Keyboard Shortcuts: Use Shift + F to open/close the filter panel and Esc to close it quickly.

  • Clear Filters Easily: Options to clear individual filters, all filters, or reset the view are available directly in the panel.
