Cannot log into Jira after JAVA reversion

Hello, I hope someone can help with the below.

Server Version: 

(v8.20.3#820003-sha1:e9c1f3b)  

Running on:

Operating System: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.2 (Ootpa)
CPE OS Name: cpe:/o:redhat:enterprise_linux:8.2:GA
Kernel: Linux 4.18.0-193.13.2.el8_2.x86_64

Brief description of problem: Cannot log into Jira after JAVA rollback

Detail: My organisation is trying to implement a third party tool that runs alongside JIRA (For reference: Methodpark Stages). We are currently running this on a test server (defined above),

Due to limitations in this tool it requires Java 1.8 (as opposed to the previous 1.11)

When the JAVA is reverted from 1.11 to 1.8, users are unable to login. 

We changed the flag "JAVA_HOME" in setenv.sh from the built in JRA (/data/jira/jre/) to /usr/lib/jvm/java-1.8.0-openjdk-1.8.0.322.b06-2.el8_5.x86_64/jre/.

When this information is changed in setenv.sh, we am unable to log into the JIRA instance.

As a prove-out, we reverted setenv.sh to the original file and logins were not effected.

This is obviously something we have done incorrectly. So any pointers would be appreciated.

For Info: When we performed the command "diff setenv.sh setenv.sh3" (this was the original) the only changes from the default setenv.sh (that worked previously is as per the attached screenshot.

Hi @NSEU DevOps can you upload atlassian-jira.log file instead of access log file? It is marked as "Primary Jira log file" in the following documentation:

In the web browser. You should be able to open developer console as described here:

Hi Martin, yeah, we've had no idea that jira keeps logs in two separate directories. We have found more useful logs in jira_home directory and are investigating them now, I will post an update when the issue is either resolved or we are stuck, but right now we have some leads.

Issue resolved. It was found that the Java version was not correctly installed. This caused Jira to fall over.
