Hi all! In our workflow we use subtasks for tracking the bugs of the product. And the parent of subtasks is the "Testing iteration". So when the testing is finished the Iteration goes to status "Ready for fixing". And after all bugs are fixed I create new Iteration and manually move all subtasks to this new Iteration.... Ok maybe this explanation is not as clear as I imagined. Still...
How can I use automation to change the sub-task parent? Is it ever possible? I'm ready to pay for some extension app etc.
Hi, @Евгений Фарсалов !
I didn’t quite understand why you don’t close tasks, but move them every time.
It seems to me that this is not entirely correct and you are depriving yourself of an excellent tool for collecting metrics and analytics on your work.
You can create automation rule:
When "Testing iteration(Task)" created then create new typical Sub-tasks.
Also you can add any condition on that rule.
Thus, you achieve your goal - the hierarchy is preserved plus you get the opportunity to analyze the historical array.
My subtasks are closed eventually. But they might migrate from one Testing Iteration to another if they are founded to be not fixed. So I really need this. Every time I move them by hand while having a simple option to move them once the new Iteration is created would free a lot of my time.
