We are assessing Jira for our needs. To get started, I renamed the sample project SMP to DEV, and started adding tasks. A bit later I noticed that the title was still "SMP board -Kanban Board - Jira", and even on new tabs and even new browsers.
Is there some way I can get it to reflect the actual current project key?
Adding the information from @Piyush Annadate _ACE Pune_
When you change the project Key, the old key is keeping in use by the project, so, if you in a filter you try to get SMP-123 the jira will understand witch project and will redirect to new DEV-123.
After the key changed, the Jira wil proceed a project reindex in background. This execution could be take a while and after that, all issue keys and links of the project were changed.
The project has still used the both keys, the old and the new as reference to the project. So, old issue links in confluence or in the comments or description will work as well.
The project key will be available to another project only if the original project was deleted.

Regards.
Another add - Project key will be available back as when you remove the PREVIOUS KEY from the project summary - DELETE isn't required.

In my desperation I moved all the tasks to a new project, then changed the key and then the board name.

Hi @Lynoure Braakman
The Board name doesn't have connection with Keys; just check if your issue having SMP-XX is now DEV-XX. And Project name and/or Board name can be changed manually; not dependent on project key changes.

The title that shows in my browser title bar when I am in the Board, the issues are getting the correct key. There seemed to be on way to change the Board name in a team managed project's board.

@Lynoure Braakman Team Managed have a single board which is based on the project name by default (cannot be changed) - seems your project NAME is your old key; may be give a change to the PROJECT NAME as well
