Hi all,

We have the following situation:

Our jira (Read-only System Workflow) has one weird status -> "Backlog."

We would like to replace it with "Backlog" and prevent the usage of "Backlog."

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

@Nic Brough -Adaptavist- By locked I mean that the WF is locked. The rename of the status is not an option as "Backlog" and "Open" are already in use in our instance.

Do we have any possible solutions here to "remove" this Backlog. status? This status is associated to two system WF's already :(

Thanks in advance for your assistance!

So not "locked", but you've used the wrong status in some of your workflows.

So, you want to change the name of a status to another status, but you cannot edit because you've used the one you want to change in other workflows.

Edit the workflows that have the unwanted status in them, and change the steps with the unwanted status name so that they use another status, or just remove them from the workflow completely.

An inexperienced admin has changed the name of a status in your system.  You should change it back to the default name, and then educate your admins better about how status works and how you want to use it in your install.

@Nic Brough -Adaptavist- Thank you for your reply!

I tied to change it back to the default name, but it seems "locked". So I am wondering how to revert it back to default ones statuses.

You'll need to explain "locked", as that's not something Jira does with status.

To "revert", all you need to do is work out what the old name was, and go to Admin -> Issues -> Status and edit the newly named one.
