Clarify JIRA and JSM Datacenter software distribution

Our organization had been running JIRA Software and Jira Service Desk server version (on prem).  To take advantage of the incentives, we went ahead and purchased JIRA Software DC and JSM DC in additions to all our plugin DC versions.  

When was the important changes notification updated?  It seems now that Datacenter server distributions will end in 2024 and we will need to purchase cloud versions.  

I'm hoping we did not purchase a much more expensive product we did not need in that we understood we would not be able to purchase new server licenses and maintenance unless we moved to DC versions.

How is this working out for Gov facilities who need to run their software on prem vs in cloud?

Hi @Dawn Fama For Jira and Jira Service Management Server will not be supported by Atlassian after Feb 24 and as you already updated your licenses to Data center for both Jira and JSM so you can use them the same way you currently using your Jira Server no need to make any special changes to your application structure unless you want to use the multi node/clustered version of Jira.

You just need to update your existing server licenses with the data center one thats it and you have converted your Jira and JSM instance from server to data center once.

Also, Datacenter distribution is not ending on 2024 it's for Jira server which will not be supported by Atlassian after Feb 24. There is no announcement from Atlassian regarding the Data center support and licensing, so you can able to renew your Data center licenses even after Feb 24 and does not require to move the applications to Cloud hosting.
