Bare with me as this may be long-winded:
I can't seem to find this asked anywhere else.
I would like to find the simplest way to amend my workflow so that when an issue is reopened, ie. moved from a done-type status (we have 2, 'done' and 'won't do') to any other status, the resolution is cleared.
I've seen loads of answers as to how to do this as a post function for the transition from 'done' to another specific status eg backlog but our current workflow is set so that all statuses can transition to each other rather than a step-by-step, sequential order which means that I would have to set a post function on every destination status from 'done' rather than being able to do it once from the 'done' status.
Is there a way to do this in 1 step rather than amending every transition post function. See images below for illustration purposes.
Current Workflow
Showing that statuses dont have a 121 relationship with one another which prevents me from setting an outgoing transition from 'done' or 'won't do' to all other statuses as all transitions are 'incoming' rather than 'outgoing'
Current Status with Post function to clear resolution
Showing that the post function is assigned to the end transition status. I would rather not have to do this one by one to each status but rather find a way to a general post function from 'done' to all other statuses
Help/thoughts are appreciated
Hi @GC , welcome to the community!
Unfortunately, you will need to use a PF on each "all" transition. 😞
While Automation has the ability to set the Resolution you can't "clear" the Resolution. This would be nice but not yet there.
