Clipboard does not work in Jira (at all): Jira Dev's FAIL.

Sergey Bilitskykh September 29, 2021

Ppl are not able to use clipboard while working with issues. In any directions. From any OS. From any browser.

We're currently transitioning everyone to the new issue view, so you're no longer able to switch back to the old issue view.

This situation is called "Development Fail" guys.

Fix was somewhere among this: cache / browser version / privacy settings. Don't know what exactly helped.

Hi @Sergey Bilitskykh

Copying things to my clipboard works like a charm. What exactly is the problem you are facing? E.g. ctrl+c doesn't work?

Sergey Bilitskykh September 29, 2021

For example:

in Chromium Version 93.0.4577.82 (Official Build) (64-bit) does not work:

Ctrl+C,

Ctrl+V,

right click+paste,

right click + paste as plain text.

I encounter it as a problem while working with TABLES. Its hard to take a table to another place from a console (code formatting)

To be more specific:

1. open an issue

2. click on the description zone (to get the fast editing)

3. try to copy/paste any info

ExResult: u can copy / paste any text to the text editor

ActResult: clipboard works away from the text editor

@Sergey Bilitskykh

I'm pasting a gif file of my actual results (because the video was rather big). I can copy/paste any text

And here is copying a table:

copy tables.gif

From where exactly do you take the table, which you want to copy inside the editor?

Sergey Bilitskykh September 29, 2021

@Alex Koxaras -Relational- you "can copy/paste any text" but the gif shows only typing text. That is a bit different.

Well... if you are able to use clipboard you can ignore this issue.

Just send your pc to users w Chromium who will ask for clipboard ;)

I've made a few tests and not only typing text. So if you look at my two gifs you will see:

  • Typing a text and copying/pasting it
  • Copying text which already was on the description
  • Copying a table within the editor

And to be honest I've never used the open source chromium browser. However, I've just downloaded it and tried again. Same results. I can copy and paste:

chromium.gif

And by clipboard you mean to paste something from the clipboard's history? If not, please define it.

And sorry about my previous gifs. They only showed you 5 secs. I've edited my previous posts and now you can see exactly what were my results.

@Alex Koxaras -Relational- Yeap Ive suggested that you have tested copying too. Anyway the problem was not on server side / vis.editor side. Thank You for your time.
