Closing child task does not change status of parent issue in NextGen Kanban project

Ken Bayne August 8, 2019

When I move all of the Subtasks in a Task to up the pipeline to "Done" the parent Task status stays at "To Do".  Also, when I move Tasks within an Epic to "Done" the parent Epic status stays at "To Do".   Should changing the status of a child issue change the status of the parent?

Also, when I change the Due Date of a child issue, the parent issue Due Date is not changed

I would like the parent issue to inherit the status and dates of the child issue

What am I doing wrong?

I don’t believe that will happen by default. Even with Classic projects that is the case. The difference being you can configure it to do so whereas with NG the configurations are limited to what is presented under Manage rules.

If I understand what you are saying....it can't be done on NG projects?

I looked at Manage Rules and this functionality doesn't seem to be available.

How do we request this as a future enhancement?

To the best of my knowledge no it cannot. With that said NG is changing constantly so maybe eventually it will support it.
