Logged in this morning and noticed the swimlanes for the default business project board are wider so now we have to scroll to see all of the swimlanes. Some may like and some probably won't. Is there a setting to change the size now?
I've noticed a change in the column widths also, but for my business board, the columns have gotten narrower. Three columns now take up approx 60% of browser window width instead of 100%.
Similar to dennish_dcsorg_com, I noticed this about the time they reported the issue. I can reproduce from multiple browser, private/incognito mode, and colleagues of mine see the changed state also.
I agree with dennish_dcsorg_com - I think Atlassian changed something and what we're seeing is a side effect of that.
Hi @Dennis_H ,
There is no such config as of now to change the width of columns of business project board. Could you please update your browser settings like Zoom in/out in Google Chrome and see if that helps?
Cheers

I could but it's something Atlassian changed. Making a fairly big display change should be something we can change back (or some note somewhere that it was changed).

Hi Dennish,
At the present time, you cannot change the width of the columns on a Business project board. Typically, the width of the columns adjust automatically based on the display of your monitor. How many columns do you have?

I know it can't be changed, but it looks like Atlassian made a change to Jira. All of our swimlanes are now probably twice as big as they were and there is even a slider at the bottom of the screen to move across the swimlanes.

The board has been the same since I created it 2+ years ago. This change happened in the last week. My system has not changed and everyone else who uses Jira in our office now has this new look of wider columns and a scroll box (not the browser scroll bar).

This is the new "scroll panel" at the bottom of the board. I don't want to send screen shots of the board since it has company info in it. The columns are wider than they were, which does make the title easier to read but now since the columns are wider it takes up more than a page on the browser (without adjusting the mag %). This is certainly a Jira change and not system related.

It sounds like a browser related issue to me. Have you tried it with another browser or update your current browser? Because I have no problem with it at all, the columns adjust automatically so that the scroll bar is not needed.
Maybe turn off extensions for your browser one by one to see if it is one of those.

It happens on any browser (even Edge, which I never use) I use on any system. The columns are wider and now there is a different small icon when there are subtasks in the main issue that wasn't there and when we click on thew quick create we can now choose a task type. None of this was there for us prior to last week when the columns were not as wide. They did increase the column width on the default board view for business projects.

Yes, they added the sub-tasks count not too long ago and you can choose the issue type (but still just a single workflow).
Maybe try an incognito window to see if that helps.

Hi @Dennis_H @John Funk ,
Sorry, I'm only now seeing this!
Dennish, I'm Jane, one of the Product Managers on the Jira Work Management team.
There has been some recent updates to the business boards that we have been rolling out and contain some of the changes you've mentioned here.
I would love to book in a quick feedback session with you around this: https://calendly.com/jyeoh/30min. Otherwise, feel free to email me directly at jyeoh@atlassian.com.
Looking forward to hearing back from you.

No solution yet? I am suffering from the opposite problem - columns were narrowed, so now we need to scroll if we want to see more than 5 tickets.
I moved the management of my company from Trello to Jira to track managers AIs. 2 weeks later the board became not friendly at all, which really sucks. Same issue in Chrome and in Edge. How can I solve this?

Hi @Dennis_H - Is your board working better now?
@Liav Sanker - I don't think understand your issue. You have a big area of space because you only have two columns. The cards show what the cards show by line - making the columns wider will not cause elements of the cards to show on a single line. This is by design. You might not like that, but it is how every other board on Jira has always been.
If I am misunderstanding your issue, please let me know.

Hey @John Funk - thanks for your answer.
The columns used to be wider, half of the page's width for each. The issue summary would fit is a single line, thus fitting much more tickets into the visible area, without the need to scroll. This have changed suddenly, and the new view is less friendly

I spoke with Atlassian. There was a change to make the columns wider. A little more annoying to have to scroll now, but it's livable. I suggested to them on my call that they look into making the swim lanes dynamic so the user can set the size,

There is a free Chrome extension that does just that - but it doesn't work with JWM Boards - just Company-managed project boards.
