Hello,
we use several Kanban Boards. Regularly we can enable the backlog like described in the last section 'Enable the Kanban backlog' on https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/configure-columns/
In short: Select "..." on your board, select "Columns", "Under Map statuses to columns, you’ll notice the Kanban backlog panel", "drag and drop an existing status on the panel"
It look like this: https://freeimage.host/i/JofxzWG
But I got one Kanban board where the column "Kanban backlog" is just not there and I can't enable the backlog by just moving a status to that column, because it is missing:

So the question is: how can I enable the "Kanban backlog" column in the board?
Kind regards,
Christian Joel
Can you confirm if these are team managed or nextgen projects?
The second image looks like its a nextgen project. In which case the backlog is enabled via Features section.

@Ben Finn All projects are company-managed projects in Jira Cloud. Both boards mentioned are created within the same project.
Features looks like this in the project: https://freeimage.host/i/JofhZZu

If this is only affecting one board, can you try creating a new board in that project and see if it has a backlog? It could be a glitch.

New boards created either 'from an existing project' or 'from an existing Saved Filter' does have the 'Kanban backlog' column, so there is no issue with new created boards. At least with my admin user account.
I got asked by the colleague, who created the board, how to enable the backlog in his board and tried to figure out how the backlog can be enabled. But it seems that I can't give an answer and have to ask him to create and configure a new one.
Thanks anyway for your help, appreciate that!
