Hi Community,
In our project JIRA board we are struggling with one topic:
We have following columns: TO DO, IN PROGRESS, IN REVIEW, READY FOR PO APPROVAL and DONE.
We would like to include tickets under IN REVIEW, READY FOR PO APPROVAL and DONE in Velocity Chart. However after finishing the each sprint we would like all tickets that ARE NOT in DONE section to be moved to the next spring.
I tried to put all mentioned statuses under DONE column but then we have a problem with continuing work on them in the next sprint.
I would be grateful for your help!
Hi @chanek ,
Welcome to the community.
by design, any issue that is not in the rightmost column will be considered incomplete when closing a sprint. When you close the sprint, any incomplete items can be moved to the backlog or to the next sprint. The velocity chart only assesses issues that are complete within a sprint. So, for example, let's say you committed to 20 stories in a sprint, and only 16 or completed. In this case, when completing your sprint. The 16 completed issues will represent the work done in the velocity chart. The other four incomplete issues will be moved to the backlog or next sprint. With that said, in order to accomplish your stated goal, you would need to have all of those statuses in the right most column. I don't believe that is what you want or should do however.
Thank you for you answer. Actually I try to find a solution to treat IN REVIEW and READY FOR PO APPROVAL and DONE as DONE (the solution is to put these statuses in the last column) but at the same time I want to include READY FOR PO APPROVAL and IN REVIEW as not fully complete items that should be transferred automatically to the next Sprint. Do you think that it's possible?
