Conditional transition

Hi,

Scenario: 2 fields, Repoter (JIRA) field and BUS_Reporter (custom) field.

I need a way to copy the BUS_Reporter to Reporter when an issue is created, if and only if BUS_Reporter is not empty.

I have already a Create transition for an issue. I tried with a second transition but it doesn't work. Please help by providing step by step what to do ? 

My worflow is Backlog (create transition) -> In progress -> ...

I am not a developer. I can just do the thing provided in the jira cloud version, such as Validator, Post Function ...

Jira Cloud has a few more plugins built into it that provide more workflow functionality like this.  Are you currently doing this in a Cloud instance or a Jira Server instance?

I believe there are a number of plugins that can help offer more extensive abilities if you find you cannot do this in Jira natively.  For example, I believe that the Jira Misc Workflow Extensions should allow you to do this.

That’s correct: JMWE for Jira Cloud offers a “Copy value from field to field” post-function that will do just that.

Ok, but what about a solution within jira workflow without JMWE ?
