I'm trying to add a swim lane to my Kanban board. On it, in the upper right-hand corner of the board, there is the more icon (...) under which I should see Board settings. When I click on more, I see two menu items:
How do I add a swim lane?
I am assigned to the administrators group, jira-administrators, jira-software-users, and site-admins groups. Thanks.
@Mark Skidmore, I believe you have an Agility project here if all you see are "rules". With Agility, AFAIK you cannot add swimlanes.
Thank you... I imported my board from Trello - would this cause my Kanban board to be an Agility project?

TBH I do not know as I have never done this. I would assume that the import would have the option to specify the project template but might default to Agility. Too, i don't think you can change the template after the fact either. If you haven't gone to far maybe investigate if you have the option to select at import and perform a new import and archive the current one.

On the Projects page, my project shows "Software" under the Type column (others are Ops, Service Desk, and Business) ... is there a place where I would find out if it's Agility, Scrum, or Kanban?

well....it used to be the type would indicate "Agility" at least that is how i remember it. Recently, they have changed it to say Software. No idea why they did that. :-(
Basically if you go to your project and you see something like below it is an agility project. I'm sure it is if you see "Manage rules".
Personally, I have not made the leap to Agility but I know some of my users have but not intentionally. Later they come to me asking why they can't do things they used to be able to. I really need to find some time to look at Agility more closely but low priority for me.

I was able to create swim lanes when I selected a Classic Kanban or Scrum board... thanks...
