Connecting Crowd to Jira not working.

shinedown99 November 2, 2018

My Problem:

I want to use Crowd Server in Jira.

I can not click the "Save and Test" button on the User Directories Page in Jira. The "Test Settings"  button just asks for another administrator login and empties all fields.

What I did before:

I installed the crowd server, created all the needed groups for Jira and started the authorization process.

Back in Jira, i entered the required settings for Name, Server URL, Application Name and Application password and every time I click on Test Settings, Jira asks again for my administrator login and empties the fields.

It worked!

I did the whole proces in Crowd again.

I set a new name and a new password in crowd.

I tried it again and now I could test it (and after a successfull run, I could save it).

Thank you

@shinedown99

I know my question will sound weird however when you go to user directories in JIRA how many do you see? I am assuming that you are logged in as a local admin through JIRA internal directory.

My Problem is, that I can not create a second Directory.

I am in the User Directories and make the following steps:

  1. Add Directory
  2. Select Atlassian Crowd
  3. Next
  4. Type in the Name and URL of my Crowd Server
  5. Type in the Name of my Jira instance (which I used before in Crowd)
  6. Enter the Application Password (which I also set bevore in Crowd
