Copy Comments From JIRA Service Desk to JIRA (Dev Team)

Hi,

We have JIRA Service Desk and JIRA for our developers. When our ServiceDesk people / customers put comments in a Service Desk ticket, those comments are not showing automatically in Jira Issue ticket, so our Developer must always look in the Service Desk ticket for latest comments (If added as a requested Participant)

Is there any synchronize option between the comments for Service Desk and Jira issue Ticket for JIRA Cloud? Ive seen things for scripting that is needed for the server product but im wondering if there is something easy for Cloud customers to get this worked out easily.

We currently do this and use ScriptRunner to keep comments in sync between issues on issue transition to keep the processing overhead light.  ScriptRunner has a delivered script Adds a comment to linked issues when this issue is transitioned that you can use.

Hi @Jonathan Forrester - 

Not sure if there is an addon specifically for this feature currently available inside the marketplace, but I am doing something similar with the third-party application Zapier. 

Zapier has support for both JSD and JIRA and I can add trigger events that when a comment is added on one issue, I can copy the comment to another issue. 

It's the solution for people like me that know how to construct if/then statements but don't know the first thing about code, haha!

That is very interesting, I will have to take a look into that and see how that would work as I do know what Zapier is but didnt think of it in a JIRA instance, very cleaver indeed!

Don't know if you found a satisfactory solution with Zapier, but our app Elements Copy & Sync would allow you easily configure the synchronization of comments between JSD tickets and linked Software tickets.

 

The Cloud version is not yet available on the Marketplace, but you can sign up to get updates about the release: https://copy-sync-cloud.elements-apps.com/
