Copy Epic with all its child issues and child issues subtasks

Jasmyn Loven June 29, 2022

Is there a way to copy an epic with all its child issues along with all the child issues' child issues? I have several Epics that have >176 child issues and instead of typing each one individually I would just like to copy the entire epic with everything inside it. Is this possible? I have tried to create automations, which relieves some of the work, but there must be a way to do this faster.

Hello @Jasmyn Loven

Welcome to the community.

Are you open to using third party apps that may cost money?

Are you copying the same structure repeatedly, or might the Epic you copy have a different set of child issues and sub-tasks each time you copy? If the former, it might be faster to create a CSV file that contains the Epic, its child issues and their subtasks and use the CSV import option.

First, thanks for your response! I am not using any third party apps and would like to find a work around if possible. Yes, I am copying the same structure repeatedly. I will look into the CSV file option.
