Copy data sandbox lose app

Hi everyone,

I am using 3rd app on a sandbox

But when i start copy production data to sandbox, 3rd app will dissappear

Is there anyway i can copy data to sandbox, but still keep 3rd app

This public bug has the reason and the workaround to reinstall apps in the sandbox -> https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CLOUD-12099

When you copy production data to a sandbox, the sandbox environment often resets or overwrites its configuration. This could result in third-party apps being removed, as they are not part of the production data being copied.

To avoid losing the third-party app, you can try the following steps:

  1. Reinstall the App After the Copy

    • If the app is removed, you can reinstall it manually after the copy process is complete. This ensures you retain access to its functionality.
  2. Contact Your System Administrator or App Provider

    • If the app is critical, reach out to your system administrator or the app provider for guidance. They may have specific instructions or tools to help maintain the app during data migration.

I try to reinstall after copy data to sandbox, but i get this error

Hi @cuong.nt1,

You can add marketplace apps to your sandbox and use them for free, as described in this support article. What I assume you are referring to, is that your app (and app data) gets lost when you copy data from production. That is true, as you can verify in this support article (see the list of data that can't be copied).

You can, however, still activate the apps and functionally use them on your sandbox environment to experiment, at no license cost.
