Could not find driver with class name: com.mysql.jdbc.Driver

Hello,

we are having problems to install jira, after make the installation, and before the wizard on web browser, we place mysql-connector-java-5.1.31.bin.jar in the folder JIRA/lib, but it continues saying that it can't connect to data base.

We look for it, but no idea how to continue.

We are using xampp, is it compatible?

Did you restart after the jar file was placed in the lib folder?

In my case, the problem was the permissions on the .jar were incorrect.
