Count Mismatch in Two Dimensional Filter gadgets

Andrews August 27, 2020

As of now, counts have a mismatch.

In the snapshot below: 56+34+87+10+1001 != 1211 and this is causing a lot of confusion.

Hi @Andrews,

I think this is a misunderstanding because the last row is "Total unique issues". Can you select multiple values in the Stream custom field?

Clicking on 1211 will lead you to the JQL query and should explain the behavior.

Hope this helps,

Hi @Manon Soubies-Camy , Yes in stream custom field I have selected multiple values.

That's the answer then.  Imagine a simple case where you have a single issue with "server" and "licencing" selected, and you have only that in the gadget.

This is a single unique issue, so you'll see two lines, one for server, one for licencing, both with a 1 in a status column.  Total unique issues in that status = 1, but total issues with a value = 2.

@Nic Brough -Adaptavist-  but the stream is a single list field type.

The gadget does not seem to think that is the case - it's seeing 23 issues with two values for stream.

Best way to investigate this is to do what @Manon Soubies-Camy suggested - click on the links to check the JQL each one is running off.

I would look at the "server" line first - it's only got a few issues and a discrepancy of 3.  I am going to assume that the query behind the gadget is a simple "Project = X", I would like to see three things:

  • How many issues are returned by "project = X and stream = server"
  • How many issues are returned when you click on the 58 on that line
  • The actual JQL that gets run when you click the 58
