Hi
So I am in an issue (Task) in Jira issue-1
I want to create an issue (Bug) that is linked to Issue-1
Can I create a bug from a task and they end up linked?
I know I can create the task and then create the bug then link them together but I don't want to do that.
I want to create the task and from the task create the bug. Then the bug appears in my task.
Hi @Wendy Thorneloe ,
Do you currently use Subtasks? I haven't tried this yet, so you'll want to test it our but...
You could try creating a new Issue Type called "Bug" and select the radio button in the "New Issue Type" dialog for "Sub Task Issue Type." That should set up a new issue type you can create from within the Task or Story issues and have them show up as part of the Story or Task.
Keep in mind that sub tasks behave differently than other issue types. If you haven't used them in the past you'll want to read up on them in the documentation
Let me know if this helps.

I forgot to mention that I'm in a next-gen project.
Can I do that in a Next-Gen project?

Ahhh...No, I don't think you can't do that in a Next-Gen project.
