Create a distribution list (DL with set of users) as user name for Assigning Bugs

I want to create a distribution list (DL with set of users) as user name and make it available in "Assignee" so that others can assign bugs to this DL, can someone help with steps?

You would just manually create a new user and set the DL email address as the email. Individual JIRA users would need to access the ticket with their own accounts. JIRA does not support assigning issues to a group.

Hi, 

I have done the same but the people in the DL are not getting any email notifications however when other valid users are getting notifications.

example @[deleted] - user ABC gets notification when commented like this

however DL_AtoZ - no user in the DL get any mail notification

If your email server is like ours and you are sending emails from jira without authentication .. make sure the distribution list is set up to allow unauthenticated sources.   In our company at least all DLs are set up to reject such email so that people can't spam the entire company from some outside mail server.

Then again, I am assuming you have tested the DL with by manually sending email to it though your normal email client.
