Create automation using the Team field

Renato Pacicco Lotfi January 30, 2024

Hi everyone,

I need to create a basic automation where I want to fill the component field based on the Team selected on the Team field.

Why can't I see the Team field when I try to create an IF rule?

This is what I want to create:

IF the team selected is X, fill the component field with option Y

Is it possible to do it?

Thanks for the reply @Trudy Claspill

I saw this post before but I couldn't understand.

The first step of my rule is Field value changed where I need to select the field, which I want to be the Team field.

I don't see how I can use the information from the other post {{issue.team}} . Is there any other option?

Hello @Renato Pacicco Lotfi

Thank you for clarifying. Your original post asked about an IF statement, which is the Condition component rather than the Trigger component of a rule.

What do you see if you type "Team" into the Select a field box?

Good morning @Trudy Claspill

In the first section I can find a Team field to select, but on the next step when I type Team to find the field I can only see custom fields.

I wanted to select the Team and create a IF rule based on the team selected, but that's where I can't find the field.

Is there another way to create this type of rule? For example: If the team selected inside an issue is X, add the component Y to this issue.

Thanks for the support.

If the issue is that you can't select Team in the Issue Fields Condition:

...that is currently expected behaviour. In that case, refer to my first response.

A workaround is presented in this post:

The work around is to use an Advanced Compare condition rather than an Issue Fields condition.

Awesome it worked now, thank you very much @Trudy Claspill .
