Creating new users with first and last name

Is there still a way to create a new user with their first and last name

What do you mean? All users have a field for a display name.

You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.

The only option I have is to invite a user which does not consist of a full name field.

Where are you getting this?

I ask because if you're using Cloud, or an external directory on server, then it's not up to you to set the name, it's up to the user system.
