Custom Field in JIRA

Hi,

 

I just created a custom field in JIRA for a specific project. I'm not able to view this new custom field on the details page when I'm on the Kanban Baord. 

E.g. would expect to see the new field within the details section on the right.

Hello @Madhurima Pabbaraju

Can you please open the issue TRAD-112 in it's own tab instead of just clicking on issue on the board and then see if the field is present on the issue view screen or not?

You have to configure the "Issue detail" view and add the custom field. PLease follow steps here

I'm able to view the fields on the details page now.

Hi @Madhurima Pabbaraju,

Did you add that custom field to the screen which is associated with the project and also did you gave any value to the custom field for that issue?

To verify that open the issue and click on the admin dropdown -> click on "where is my field" and you can verify if the field is added to the screen or not.

Hi Kishore,

Thank you for your response.

The custom field is associated to a screen. I have updated an issue with values in the field, yet I'm not able to view it in the details section.

Hi @Madhurima Pabbaraju,

Did you add the "Requester" custom field in the Issue Detail View section?.

To add the field  Click on Board -> configure. In that section go to "Issue Detail View" and add that field. Then you will be able to view the "Requester" custom field on the Issue detail view screen. For a reference an attached screenshot.

Thank you so much for the details. I just added the field to the issue detail view and they appear on the detail section now.

Check whether you have been added that field on the Issue View screen. or not.

If not then first you need to add that field and the field should contain data then only you will be able to see the field on the issue view screen.
