Custom Field required for 1 project only

Hi there,

I am new to JIRA and I created a custom field with a dropdown menu

Field = Department

Dropdown menu =

  1. Tech
  2. Security
  3. Finance
  4. Development

I tried to add this field only to our DEVELOPMENT project, which i selected the DEV screen under Field Configurations .  I believe my error was making it REQUIRED and also under "Default Field Configuration

How could i make Department field required only for  DEVELOPMENT project and not across all boards. Thanks

You can associate the custom field with a single project and issues types in that project.  On the custom field you will want to select Context and default values from the dropdown by clicking on the three dots on the right.  On that page select edit configuration.  On the edit configuration page you can select the project and issue types in that project you would like to associate the custom field with.  Then click modify when done.

Thanks @Brant Schroeder , I do see the  Modify Configuration Scheme context once you click edit configuration. If i chose the project under CHOOSE APPLICABLE CONTEXT, how can i make it required for that project only and not a GLOBAL CONTEXT .
