Custom Fields & Screen schemes

Hi, dear community,

I have a problem with setting the due date field for some types of issues and delete that field for the rest of the types. Once I change the layout for say stories the change applies also to other task types which are in the same issue screen scheme. How to change this? Probably I have to change or add another screen scheme. ? If yes how to do it?

How to set it as required for some task types and optional for others?

Please advise

Hi @Lena Sargsyan 

• Create new screens for your story issue type (max 3 for the 3 different operations "Create", "Edit" and "View") 
  • Cog > Issues
  • Click on screens
  • Copy or create new ones (and add all necessary fields)
• Create a new screen scheme for your issue type
  • Cog > Issues
  • Click on screen schemes
  • Add new screen scheme and select the default screen
  • Click on "Associate an issue operation with a screen"  for the rest of screens (if any)
• Associate the screen scheme to your issue type via the Issue Type Screen Scheme option
  • Cog > Issues
  • Click on "Issue type screen scheme"
  • Locate the issue type screen scheme used by your project
  • Click ellipsis menu > Configure
  • Click "Associate an issue type with a screen scheme"
  • Choose your issue type and the corresponding screen scheme
  • Click add

Now any changes made to these screens will only affect the corresponding issue type.

I couldn't go further than the "Click on "Associate an issue operation with a screen"  for the rest of the screens (if any)", because there wasn't such a button "Associate" and I couldn't find itonn different pages either.

Click on the Scheme which is required. The next screen you can see the associate button at the right-top.

Hi Lena,

Create the screen first - probably easiest to copy the current one and then make the changes.

Then create the new screen scheme and use the new screen you just created as the default screen.

Then edit the issue type screen scheme to map the desired issue type(s) to the new screen scheme you just created.
