Custom field condition according to built-in field

Hey!

I need to create a sub-components field that will show certain sub-fields in a drop-down field  - according to the choice of components.

For component 1 I will have suba, subb, and subc.

for component 2 I will have subd and sube.

Any other component - the sub-component field will be empty.

After a very long research, i found I might need a script - but as I am not a programmer I am having difficulties writing a script for a drop-down list type field.

Help will be appreciated! :)

Have you tried to use cascade filed?

Cascade fields need new fields to be created, while im trying to use a built-in field.

Or am I missing somehting?

Yes, to use cascade field you have to create new custom field.
