Custom field width need to increase 7.3.1 server

Hi All,

I need to increase the custom field width in Jira software Server 7.3.1 does JMWE Add-on will help for this or any other Addon which supports to increase the width of the field Dropdown.

Please suggest me on this.

What type of field is this, and why do you want to increase the width?

Hi Nic,

Type is Select List (Single Choice).

Reason : In drop down values big text is there so, while selecting any specific value it should show the full text of the value it could be easy to the customers.

The best way to address this is to not have uselessly long names for the list options, but if you want to continue with this bad idea, then look for the files edit-select.vm and view-select.vm in your Jira install, edit them to make the field wider and restart it.

Earlier my colleague resolved this by giving the Script in "Description "of the Custom field as well as in  "Announcement Banner "max width script  suddenly it got reduced so, the customer is asking the same view. Now my colleague left the organisation.

You need to edit the .vm files I've mentioned.  I can't help you find them in your installation.

If you can't get to your installation directory, you'll need to get in touch with the server admins for their help finding and editing the files.

You'd need to amend the code that renders the field in the core of Jira, an app can't help you with this.
