Custom paragraph field in a next gen project?

I'd like to create a custom paragraph field in a next gen project but I don't see the option. Short text is available, but the field would be for release notes, and I believe a paragraph field would work better than short text. I'm attaching a screenshot of the field types I see when creating the field. Is paragraph (or some kind of longer/multi-line text) just not available?

indeed this field type is not yet available in Next-gen. I expect they will add in the future.

It is now available for Jira projects.  We still don't see this in Jira Service Desk.

We are in Jira cloud and we do have Confluence as well, if that helps.
