Customers given access to JIRA, running multiple JIRA Project's for external facing access

colleen.urquhart August 29, 2024

Once upon a time someone granted our main customers access to JIRA!  They've been set up with external project's. Tickets are cloned to internal Project to manage the development and implementation and avoid customers viewing internal comments.

This causes a huge work around and also means all dev tickets are in one project - it's messy.

I'd like to separate our main customer's into one project, one single source of truth.  Is it possible to restrict development tickets from a group of users so they could view an epic and requirement but not view the development ticket.  They want to see progress and I've tried getting them to pull out of JIRA, focusing on communication but now they've got access they want more!

I'm open to better suggestions too.

HI @colleen.urquhart

Welcome to the community.

You can look to create an issue security scheme and have all dev issues set with a security level and only provide internal users access to issues with the security level.

Thank you!  I'll take a look at that.
