Date in history not the same as date in transitions in Jira

When I look in Jira I see that the transition date is not the same as the date shown in the history. Is this a bug or is there a reason for it?

I think this might be down to where the app that is giving you the "transitions" tab is getting the transition date from. Which app is it?
