Default assignee issue

Philippe Laurin February 28, 2018

Hi,

I have a jira project where the default assignee is set to be "Project Lead", which happens to be myself. For some reason, jira keeps auto-assigning issues to another user (let's call him Bob), despite showing in the setting Default assignee = Team lead. I can see from that same screen that I am in fact the Team lead for this project, Bob has now only role = User.

I tried to change Default assignee = Unassigned but even then jira assigns tickets to Bob.

Is it possible that jira is keeping in memory an old value for the "Default assignee" setting?

Thanks for any input.

Phil

There's a lot of ways to automatically set assignee.

  • Check the COMPONENT/S screen -- You can set default assignees here.
  • Check the WORKFLOW postfunctions -- You can set the assignee field on workflow actions.

This project does not use components. The "Component" settings only show "This project doesn’t have any components, yet"

  • Check the WORKFLOW postfunctions -- You can set the assignee field on workflow actions.

I checked the workflow used by this project and it doesn't have any assignation based on actions.

Any other suggestions?

Not particularly. Do you have scriptrunner or other scripting plugins? Other integrations?

As far as I know we don't use any scripting plugins or integrations. We use a handful of add-ons:

  • Epic Sum Up
  • Epic Sum Up - Free
  • JIRA Toolkit Plugin
  • Jirassimo PDF Documents. JIRA issues printed, in PDF
  • Tempo Planner
  • Timesheets

I don't think any of these would interfere with Default assignation settings.
