Description on Custom Field

I recently created a custom field and inserted a comment in the description field, a note about who requested the field and why.  Now another user wants it removed.  I have updated the field and removed the description but the user can still see it.  Will it take time to populate through the system?  And will it update in issues that have already been created?

Hi Ann,

You removed it from the Description field? And when you refresh you don’t see it anymore? But the user does after a refresh?

If all of that is true, the user probably just needs to clear their cache in their browser.

Thanks for the answer, unfortunately it didn't work, the user can still see the comment.

No I don't, when I open an issue I only see the multi choice list entries.

Okay, I am confused. Is the comment in the description field? Or somewhere else?

Hi John

 

I had removed the comment from the custom field setup, however I needed to 

  • go to Settings >> Issues >> Field configuration
  • Open the "Default field configuration"
  • Search for the custom field, you will get the products field in search result
  • Select edit and remove the value from "Description" field
