Did Atlassian remove the ability for sub-tasks to show up on active scrum boards?

Clifford Perea January 14, 2025

I always saw sub-tasks show up on active scrum boards when are created under stories, tasks, and bugs, but I am not seeing that now. Did Atlassian change something where sub-tasks no longer show up on active scrum boards?

Hello @Clifford Perea

From what type of project is your board selecting issues? You can get the project Type information from the View All Projects page under the Projects menu.

If you are not working with a Scrum board built into a Team Managed Software project, have you reviewed the Filter used by the board to confirm that it is not structured such that it excludes subtasks?

If you are working with a Scrum board built into a Team Managed project, then the only way to see Subtasks ask cards on such a board is to change the Group option (in the upper right) to Subtasks.

Hi @Trudy Claspill thank you for the response. I am working with a scrum board built within a team managed project, so then I will take a look at the group option. Thanks

@Trudy Claspill what is the sub-task option doesn't show up in the groups area?

Hello @Clifford Perea

Can you provide a screen image of what you see?

Are you working with the board that is built into the Team Managed project, or are you working with a board built from a Saved Filter that references a Team Managed project?
