Different Versions JIRA Core and JIRA Software

Jorge Mora July 3, 2018

Hi!

Case:

We have updated JIRA Software but not JIRA Core

Result:

JIRA Core and JIRA Software have different versions

We need:

Upgrade JIRA Core to the same version as JIRA Software

Question:

Running the JIRA Core 7.9.2 installation file will allow me to update only JIRA Core?

Thank you very much

Hello @Jorge Mora

Possible duplicate here - https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Core-questions/Upgrading-when-you-have-both-JIRA-Software-and-JIRA-Core/qaq-p/727268

Jira software is an application which provides agile features on top of Jira core. Thus, if you upgrade your Jira software then automatically jira core will have the same version as jira software and not vice versa. Because sometimes users install jira core and then later install jira software which leads to version mis-match like in your case thus if you download and upgrade to a version of jira software then version of jira core will be taken care of automatically as installing jira software also installs jira core of the same version.

Hi Tarun,

The link you provided me with I can't see it.

So, I have to download the JIRA Software 7.10 installation file (for example) and do the update, right?

thank you!

Yes, upgrade to the JIra software version which you want and that should fix the problem. If you are having an commercial license then you can also take the opinion from the atlassian support

Though in the above link the answer is provided by atlassian support only.
