I am currently running Jira Software 7.13.2
In the Addons i can see that the "Jira working hours plugin" is currently disabled. Is this plugin required?
What does it relate to?
Note that we previously had Jira Service Desk installed on the same server.
Version: 3.13.2-REL-0003

Hi Paul,
I see you are looking for more information about the working hours plugin. You are correct, this is a plugin that is included anytime you install Jira Service Desk. This plugin is necessary for Service Desk to be able to operate at all. I believe this plugin is used in regards to seeing/managing SLA data in regards to customer requests. But this is only applicable to Service Desk projects.
This plugin is required for Service Desk. But it is not required if you only have Jira Core or Jira Software.
If you no longer have Service Desk, I think it would be better to completely remove that plugin from Jira. You can do this by removing the .jar file from the $JIRAHOME/plugins/installed-plugins/
Disabling it can also work, but the problem can be if you ever go to reinstall or upgrade Service Desk, having that plugin in a disabled state will prevent Service Desk from working correctly. So in the case of Service Desk having already been removed, it makes more sense to remove this too in order to prevent future potential problems here.
I hope this helps.
Andy
Thanks Andy - will try this in my dev env today.
