Hi,
A user created a ticket and added tables to the description field
After creation, he updated the description a few times. He tried to view his last changes in the history tab, but the changes are not presented as a table and are very hard to read and understand. Is there a way to change this view? Many copy it to another field?
Thanks,
Orly
I have the same question. I have to analyse how the contents of a table have changed over time (4 or 5 times), so I copied back the tables from history with their rich-text markup of || and | separators, but it does not display as a table!
This is really annoying. I thought the markup is actually still like that behind the display, so I expected that as soon as you copy the marked up table text into a field that displays richly, such as the description, it should immediately appear as a table.
In the past we had to actually create tables by typing these separators to create cells.
Please help. Is there a way to easily restore a table from history?
I really do not want to recreate them cell by cell.
Did you find a solution? I have the exact same problem, and it is really ugly! Best regards!

1) You can check the Activity Stream gadget on the Jira dashboard. It should preserve the table formatting.
2) Another solution is Issue History for Jira from my team. It also shows the original formatting and highlights the updates made.
You can also roll back the changes using the Revert option.
