Does Jira Software Projects support Categories?

In a Jira Business project, I know I can add categories to work items and then view my board by category. Is this possible to do in a Jira Software project?

Hi Christian - The quick answer is not yet, but I don't know if it is one their roadmap to include for software projects like that they have done with Lists, Calendars, etc. But you can certainly use Components!
