I'm a part-time developer, I work 3 days a week and I'm using Jira and Greenhopper to manage my project. By default a week is 5 days so Jira is not correctly translating my estimates (in days) into weeks. Is there a way to configure Jira for part-time staff ?
Thanks
In the Time Tracking admin page, you can change how many working days there are in a week.
To get there, type "g g" from any JIRA page to bring up the admin quicksearch, start typing "Time Tracking" and press enter.
However, this is a global setting - so if some of the team is part-time and some is full-time, or the instance is also used for other projects, this won't help.
pennyI would also benefit from this feature as developers are hired externally and in some countries, the workday is 7hrs, in some countries 8, and each has their own holidays and vacation times. @Penny Wyatt (On Leave to July 2021) is it now (six years later) or will it potentially be possible later to handle individual calendars for each user you add?

@Robert To the best of my knowledge, this isn't a feature we support, and after a bit of asking around I'm not aware of it being on any roadmap. Jira Portfolio does allow specifying weekly hours per user, but that's only used for the purpose of scheduling/planning work, not for logging time.
A third-party addon that specialises in time tracking, such as Tempo ( https://www.tempo.io/tempo-timesheets-agile-time-tracking-plugin-for-jira ) may have the more advanced functionality you seek?

Dear @Penny Wyatt (On Leave to July 2021), thank you very much for your kind and quick reply. I will be sure to check out Tempo and other plugins.
I am a bit surprised that it was never considered as standard functionality, as it would provide insight into available resources for planning, improve the accuracy of reports that can be taken out of Jira and primarily benefit team leads and Product owners. I believe having a simple overview of resource availability, without using some standalone HR tools or shared XLS files is a goal for many.
Nowadays, when more and more people work from home, and more and more companies outsource development, each developer could maintain their own "calendar," providing POs and TLs with the ability to plan and report while automatically taking into consideration things like vacation times, sick days, holidays, time zones and work hours.
Just putting it out there in case someone decides to consider it for the bottom of the backlog :) If there is any HL roadmap you publicly expose, I would be very interested in seeing it.
Thanks again and have a great day
