Does Jira use it's own Wiki markup format ?

Hi there, 

I have noticed that Jira wiki markup is slightly different from the normal Wiki markup? Does Jira use a custom wiki markup format?

I think it is different to normal wiki markup, here is the description for Jira markup.

I'd love to know where the link to that page is in Jira... I looked everywhere and my first google tries where pretty unfruitful too.  Why isn't there some direct link to that page right there where I need it?
