Done tasks not considered as completed when closing the sprint

Hello,

As explained in the question: I have some tasks that are `DONE`. When closing the sprint, they are considered incomplete and are moved into the next sprint.

I have tried moving them from WIP back to DONE without any success. The column `DONE` is at the most right possible and the stories are `DONE` as well.

Any help would be welcomed,

Thanks.

Michel

I finally found a solution.

What happened is that I added some column in my board which changed the top right column. I then reverted the change, back to the initial configuration.

However, the `DONE` column was not considered the top right anymore even though it was. To fix it, I created a dummy column, move it to the top-right then the `DONE` top the top-right. Then delete the dummy column.

Jira is bugged.

@Michel Yeung

The resolution of the done is set to be resolved  in order to consider the tickets as done

  1. Open your project > Click project settings > Click workflows on your left sidebar;
  2. Find the relevant workflow, then, on your right corner, click the pencil icon to edit it;
  3. Select the transition to the "Done" status;
  4. Click post functions;
  5. On your right corner, click Add post function;
  6. Select Update issue field, then click add;
  7. On "Issue Field", select Resolution;
  8. Select the relevant "Field Value", then click Add;
    1. You'll need to perform steps 3 to 8 on every transition that leads to the "Done" status!
  9. Don't forget to publish the workflow draft.

    Also ensure in the board the Done column is in the right end of the board

The terminology that you are using sounds familiar from my earlier experiences with Jira, but while working with this new Jira Cloud version, it seems that there's no field Resolution shown in the list (also, the terminology and UI concerning editing the transition details is different).

I'm struggling with this same issue, but expecting that this "column gate" might fix something. We'll see in a couple of weeks, when the sprint completes :)

Hi @Michel Yeung welcome to the Atlassian community.

The action plan is to check the workflow set up. Seems like, their might be some workflow changes made in the backend by your admin team.

Or the done issues might have been updated with new Sprint (upcoming) number that might shown up in the next sprint.
