Edit workflow permission -> Change status name?

The new permission Edit Workflows allows users & groups to modify the workflow of a company managed project, which is great at first glance. Currently it's limited in the way that

• only workflows that aren't shared between multiple projects can be edited
• only the new workflow builder can be used

The support article states that this permission does not allow creation of global entities like a new status.

My question is: Does it allow to rename an existing status?

If true, this would mean some project admin could rename a status which affects other projects without them knowing.

You are right, this permission does not allow creation of global entities like a new status and to answer your question, no, it will not allow the user who has Edit workflow permission on a project, to rename a status.

A status can be renamed only by users who have Jira administrator permission.

Hi @Shalini Pradhan does this restriction also apply to the other status attributes, such as "Category" and "Color"?  I'm assuming it is restricted, but thought I'd ask to be sure.

Answering to your question : My question is: Does it allow to rename an existing status?

- User having Edit Workflow permission can only select from existing entities. They cannot even edit those statuses.

Below is the screenshot of workflow editor from the user having "Edit Workflow Permission" and its uneditable :-

You can’t edit the status name because you are not a site admin.

Thanks for the screenshot. The error message is somewhat misleading though - you don't need to be a site admin, only product admin access is required. If possible that should be changed :)
