As a Jira Admin , how do i enable the email notifications to a group ( DL ) whenever that group is mentioned anywhere in the created issue . To be very clear , it's not the email triggering on updating the issues BUT it's only when a group's name is mentioned anywhere in the created issue ( could be assignee field , reporter field or the comment field ).
For example :
- There is a project under which i have an issue created where there is a comment added tagging a group in it . Now the users present under that group should get an email notification triggered
Regards,
Pranav
I had some options in my mind:
1. same like @Jack Brickeywith a SIL Script automation
2. Filter set on the mentioning of that group and the Filter Abo sent ASAP, not the nicest way.
3. Perhaps and Addon like-jira email this issue might help, but there we would need some specialist on that to help clarify if it’s feasible.
Hi Pranav, welcome to the Community. I am unaware of any means of mentioning a group which is the first thing to overcome. If you have a way of doing this currently could you please share that detail? Maybe you have a Jira user defined that equate to a group and you are mentioning that user? Maybe you could use Automation to parse a comment trigger and send an email if a team name is in the comment.

You would need to use your email server and creat a forwarding file from the team email to others.
