Hi,
We are using Jira cloud with my team. For me the email notifications stopped working. I used to get 20-30 emails by day, but I get nothing since Wed, Feb 5, 3:52 PM CET. The notification emails from confluence are also not working.
What I have tried:
- Checked spam/ archived mails
- Tried to turn off and on again the "Get email updates for issue activity when:" under my Personal Settings
- Checked several tickets here for example:
- I contacted my admin and he said every setting looks good from his side also.
Any ideas what else could I try?

Hi @Felician Benda ,
Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
I can indeed see that there was a block on our side and this is what was preventing you from receiving emails.
The block has been added on the 5th of February at 15:22:45+00:00 since when trying to deliver messages to your mailbox we got the below message in return:
550: 550 5.1.1 Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable
I have removed the block and I can already see an email being delivered to you. Can you kindly confirm you are able to receive notifications again?
Also, just FYI, the block is automatically set after a number of failed attempts to deliver emails to a mailbox.
I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Dario
I have further looked into this and I can see why the block happened.
By using below site I can see that there is a problem with one of the MX records for your domain:
MX Record Target: 0 sensitxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxook.com.
IP address: 104.xxxxxxxxx (united states)
Status: Success
Test duration(ms): 471IP address: 104.xxxxxxxxx (united states)
Status: Success
Test duration(ms): 228MX Record Target: 10 inboundxxxxxxxxxxxxxaws.com.
IP address: 54.xxxxxxxx (united states)
Status: RCPT TO failed : 550 5.1.1 Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable
Test duration(ms): 466
Please send above snippet to your mail administrator(s) and ask them to fix this asap or you might soon stop receiving emails again.
Cheers,
Dario

@Dario B could you please do the same for me? Had the exact same thing happen to me and Devin in our company? Would be great if you can unblock us both

Hi @Richardt Benade ,
Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Please notice that having a paid license (not a free one) you can ask your site-admin(s) to create a support request using: https://support.atlassian.com/contact
I am saying this because I can see that there are at least 229 email addresses blocked for your email domain and looking at the error message when trying to deliver messages to your inbox, it might be the case that the emails are actually being rejected on your side:
554 5.7.1 [internal] recipient address was suppressed due to customer policy
However, I have unblocked all the email addresses from your same domain and this should have solved the issue.
In case you can't still get emails, please ask your mail server administrator(s) to check if there is anything rejecting our emails. Otherwise, if nothing else works, please ask your site-admin(s) to create a support request for this issue.
Cheers,
Dario

Thanks for letting us know and for following-up with your admin@Felician Benda ! :)
I have also unblocked some other email addresses from the same domain that were also blocked due to the same problem with the MX record.
